Position Summary Support Tampa Electric's Strategy & Business Development group in enhancing and strengthening the company's strategic planning and implementation efforts. The Strategy Co‑Op will assist with research, analysis, and coordination activities with strategic initiatives. Working collaboratively across the organization, this role provides foundational exposure to corporate strategy, operations, regulatory, finance, and has the opportunity to participate on cross‑functional teams.

Accountabilities

Strategic Research & Industry Analysis - Conduct research on industry trends, peer utility strategies, regulatory and legislative developments, and other external factors influencing Tampa Electric's strategic direction. Summarize results and synthesize findings into insights to inform strategy discussions and planning efforts.

Financial, Business & Comparative Analysis - Support benchmarking and key performance indicator (KPI) analysis by reviewing inputs, identifying trends and variances. Help translate analytical findings into clear summaries, visuals, and presentations that support strategy discussions, business cases, and leadership updates.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Strategy Communication - Partner with teams across finance, engineering, operations, regulatory, customer experience, and other functional areas to gather inputs and support coordinated strategy efforts. Assist in preparing materials for internal meetings, leadership updates, and planning sessions, ensuring complex information is communicated clearly and effectively.

Physical Location 3600 Midtown Dr, Tampa, FL 33607

Working Conditions Mostly in a normal office environment but will have opportunities to visit other operations facilities such as power plants, solar sites, or service area buildings.

Preferred Availability Full time (40 hours)

Qualifications Education:

The successful applicant should be enrolled in an ABET accredited university as a college undergraduate or a graduate level post‑secondary educational program in a related discipline.

Co‑Op Requirements:

To qualify as a co‑op student, enrollment in the university's co‑op program (proof of enrollment required); if not eligible for co‑op program (or program unavailable), the student will be considered an intern.

A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required.

Storm Duty Requirements TECO Energy and its companies serve a role in providing critical services to our community during an emergency.
