Duties/Responsibilities

Craft compelling stories: Write, shoot, and edit engaging news stories for TV, web, and all our digital platforms, ensuring our community is always informed and connected.

Be the first on the scene: Report live and react instantly to breaking news, severe weather, or major community events, bringing real-time updates across every screen and channel.

Unearth vital narratives: Research, pitch, and develop impactful news stories that resonate deeply with our local audience and shed light on important issues.

Own the moment: Navigate fast-paced, high-pressure environments and make sound, split-second decisions during live broadcasts, maintaining composure and confidence under pressure.

Step up to the anchor desk: Seize opportunities to fill in as an anchor, showcasing your versatility and leadership in front of the camera (based on your interest and ability, of course!).

Qualifications/Requirements

A degree in Communications/Journalism or an equivalent passion-driven, real-world experience (we value grit and smarts!).

An insatiable curiosity for current events and what truly matters to our local community.

Digital fluency: You’re not just comfortable with social media; you wield it as a powerful newsgathering, storytelling, and audience engagement tool.

Team player & solo star: You thrive in collaborative environments but are equally effective working independently, especially when deadlines are tight.

Physical readiness: Able to confidently lift and carry essential equipment, including your tripod, camera, and lights—because great stories don’t always happen in a studio!

A clean driving record and a valid driver’s license (essential for covering stories across our community).

Unshakeable news judgment: You know a story when you see it, how to tell it responsibly, and why it matters to our viewers.

Urgency with empathy: You’re driven to get the story first, but always with respect, understanding, and a commitment to accuracy.
