As a Staff Product Designer at Digital Health Team, you’ll drive the definition and design of various products and features, often extending across multiple touchpoints. You’ll join a cross-disciplinary team of product managers, designers, user researchers, writers, clinical experts, and software engineers to help users become more aware of and proactive about their health. Day-to-day tasks will include working on innovative health applications, from concept to launch, using industry standard design tools to create wireframes, workflows, prototypes, and animations, as well as user-interface guidelines for software engineering.
The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate using design thinking to create and develop detailed workflows, wireframes, and visual designs using different design systems depending on project type (Samsung Health, Bio-Marker Research, Medical Device). This candidate also has experience overseeing or contributing to multiple concurrent workstreams, leading or mentoring other designers, and giving presentations to various project stakeholders.
Position Responsibilities:
Provide product vision and support in an evolving environment where product definition is continuously shaped and refined, balancing trade-offs that consider user, product, engineering, and business needs.
Lead the UX and UI design for products that involve complex data models, system logic, and multi-layered user flows.
Translate intricate technical concepts into accessible and elegant consumer experiences.
Develop workflows, user task analysis, interaction flows, wireframes, mock-ups, and prototypes with a detail-oriented and scalable approach.
Propose clear and compelling designs backed by strong rationale that address identified challenges and opportunities.
Collaborate iteratively with stakeholders, sharing in-progress work, incorporating feedback, and refining creative concepts into cohesive design solutions.
Work closely with other designers to create components that integrate seamlessly into the design system.
Maintain high standards and methodologies throughout the product development lifecycle, iterating quickly through various design concepts to narrow the solution space.
Evaluate new and existing products to assess desirability and provide actionable recommendations for improvement and innovation.
Document, organize, and share project plans to ensure effective coordination with cross-functional teams.
Experience requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
6+ years of UI/UX design experience, including shipping products to market, with a portfolio showcasing high-quality design work, systems thinking, and relevant projects (individual or team-based).
Proven record of bringing products to market that contain complex user interactions and that span multiple form factors/devices.
Proficient in design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch, Principle, Keynote/PPT) for creating visual artifacts and presentations.
Deep understanding of information architecture, workflow modeling, and data visualization.
Experience designing dashboards, configuration tools, or consumer tools with technical underpinnings.
Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills for articulating design concepts to teams and stakeholders. Comfortable working in self-directed teams, navigating ambiguity, resolving conflicts, and adapting to agile, startup-like environments.
Experience designing consumer electronics, balancing aesthetics with usability, and managing timelines effectively. Passionate about creating elegant, functional, and impactful designs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience building smartwatch and mobile phone apps is a plus.
Direct hands-on building and scaling design system/guidelines.
