The Instructional Designer supports the design and development of global learning solutions that drive skill growth, leadership development, and organizational performance. This role partners closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), regional L&D leads, and business stakeholders to create engaging, scalable, and culturally relevant learning experiences for a global audience. Key Responsibilities
Learning Design & Development
Design, develop, and implement high‑quality learning experiences (e‑learning, blended, and instructor‑led) using sound instructional design principles and adult learning theories. Apply models such as ADDIE and SAM to ensure efficient development cycles. Create storyboards, scripts, facilitator guides, and participant materials. Seeks out new methods, stay on top of industry trends, implementing new design and development methods, and techniques to provide best‑in‑class learning experiences. Ensures all learning is tied to Victaulic financial and non‑financial objectives.
Collaboration & Partnership
Partner with SMEs, regional stakeholders, and global HR partners to assess learning needs and translate business goals into measurable learning objectives. Helps stakeholders uncover their true needs, through strong questioning skills, ensuring strong support of Victaulic employees. Work with the Instructional Design Manager to ensure alignment with global learning strategy and brand standards.
Technology & Tools
Develop and deploy learning using authoring tools (Articulate 360, Rise, Captivate, etc.) and learning management systems (LMS). Integrate video, animation, simulations, and gamification when appropriate. Proactively research, try out, and implement new technologies, sharing with L&D leadership and team members.
Quality Assurance & Evaluation
Pilot and test learning programs to ensure accessibility, engagement, and impact across cultures and languages. Measure learning effectiveness through surveys, metrics, and business outcomes, recommending improvements based on data. Evaluate and evolve learning experiences based on data collected from measurement strategies.
Continuous Improvement
Stay current with emerging trends in instructional design, learning technologies, and adult learning. Share innovative design approaches and tools with peers on the global team.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning Sciences, or related field. 3–5 years of experience designing and developing training in a corporate or global environment. Strong proficiency in learning authoring tools and LMS platforms. Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills. Cultural awareness and experience adapting content for global audiences preferred.
