Communications Pro Bono (Global/Remote) – Help Change the World! Job Summary The Communications Pro Bono role will focus primarily on spreading the positive news of UniversalGiving®’s mission. This position is tailored to a professional who wants to give back special skills and has the right degree/profession/experience for this position. UniversalGiving® is an award‑winning nonprofit allowing people to donate and volunteer with top‑performing, vetted organizations all over the world. 100% goes directly to the cause. All partner organizations are vetted with our proprietary Quality Model®.
UniversalGiving® has been featured on the homepage of Bloomberg, Oprah.com, CBS, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and has been featured in more than 16 books, including the new edition Harvard Business Review Book, HBR Guide to Delivering Effective Feedback, Arianna Huffington’s Thrive, and Laura Arrillaga‑Andreessen’s Giving 2.0. We have also been acknowledged six times on Great Nonprofits’ annual Top Nonprofits lists and are highlighted in Huffington Post’s list of best volunteering matching websites. We continue to gain momentum, with dozens of articles in the Christian Science Monitor and monthly contributions on Forbes. To date, we have matched more than 22,000 volunteers worth $31 million dollars’ of volunteer hours.
Responsibilities
Update and maintain our Communications Plan and PMT (Project Management Tool)
Create and cultivate relationships with journalists and bloggers and social media influencers to cover various topics including Tech for Good, Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Global Philanthropy, Global Volunteering, CSR, Volunteering for Health and more
Update and utilize our proprietary, customized Salesforce CRM to track relationships
Craft and update outreach communication templates
Update our Communications systems, tracking all placements.
Prepare for CEO’s speaking engagements, conferences, and events
Expand UniversalGiving®’s reach and impact locally and globally all across the world!
With proven success & a positive attitude, take on special projects, new responsibilities, and supervision of others in Communications
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in marketing or communications field
Strong command of Marketing/Communications principles and ability to implement them creatively
Proven experience with digital marketing, including social media
Excellent verbal and communication skills
Critical attention to detail and commitment to Excellence, a core value
Proficiency in Google Workspace tools (some training provided)
Prior experience with Salesforce is a plus
