The Opportunity: Thermo Systems is growing, and we’re adding an AutoCAD Controls Designer to support control system projects across District Energy, Life Sciences, and Mission Critical facilities. This is a hands-on design role with strong mentorship from senior designers and clear opportunities to grow into higher-level controls engineering work. If you enjoy creating clean, accurate drawings and want to deepen your expertise in control panels, instrumentation, and automation systems, this role provides real exposure—not just redlines.
What You’ll Do
Create and revise AutoCAD drawings for industrial control systems Support the design of:
Control panel layouts P&IDs Electrical loop diagrams Panel risers Mechanical and electrical installation drawings Project as-built documentation
Work under the guidance of senior designers while owning assigned drawing packages Review and self-check drawings for accuracy, consistency, and standards Identify design issues early and collaborate on solutions Coordinate with project leads to stay aligned on scope, schedule, and deliverables
Tools & Technical Focus
AutoCAD (AutoCAD Electrical experience a plus) Basic exposure to:
Instrumentation PLC / control panels Network and IT infrastructure related to controls
Microsoft Windows & Office
What You’ll Bring
Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) 2–5 years of AutoCAD experience in controls, electrical, or industrial environments Experience producing technical drawing packages (controls, electrical, or instrumentation) Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a design team Desire to learn and grow within control systems and automation
Work Authorization / Other Requirements
Proof of eligibility to work in the country where the position is located is required. Maintain a valid driver's license. Fit for Duty at all times
