
Canrig is seeking a Sales Manager focused on the monetization and reduction of Slow-Moving and Obsolete Inventory (SLOB) across its global operations. This role is responsible for developing and executing commercial strategies to sell, repurpose, transfer, or otherwise disposition excess and aged inventory while maximizing recovery value and minimizing ongoing carrying costs.
The Sales Manager - SLOB will work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Product Lines, and Regional Sales teams to identify inventory opportunities, align customer demand, and execute targeted sales campaigns. This role requires strong commercial judgment, creativity in deal structuring, and the ability to operate independently in a highly execution-driven environment.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
7+ years of experience in sales, commercial operations, inventory management, or supply-chain-related roles within oil & gas, industrial equipment, or capital equipment environments.
Proven experience negotiating commercial agreements and closing non-standard or value-based sales transactions.
Strong understanding of inventory economics, pricing strategies, and margin trade-offs.
Ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority.
Strong communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%, including domestic and occasional international travel.
Canrig Sales Manager (Finance) Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience with capital equipment, aftermarket parts, or drilling equipment.
Familiarity with SLOB reduction strategies, working capital optimization, or inventory disposition programs.
Experience working with ERP systems and inventory reporting tools.
Established customer relationships within drilling contractors, operators, or service companies.

Strong time management and prioritization skills in a dynamic, execution-focused environment.
Ability to manage multiple inventory opportunities simultaneously.
Comfortable operating with ambiguity and developing creative commercial solutions.
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time based on business needs.

Responsibilities
Own the commercial strategy for reducing Canrig's SLOB inventory through external sales, internal redeployment, and alternative disposition channels.
Identify, prioritize, and manage SLOB inventory opportunities in coordination with Supply Chain, Product Lines, and Operations.
Develop targeted sales plans for aged, excess, discontinued, or obsolete inventory by region, customer segment, or product family.
Engage customers directly to position SLOB inventory as value-driven solutions, including discounting strategies, bundling, and special commercial terms where appropriate.
Coordinate with regional and global sales teams to align SLOB opportunities with active customer demand and upcoming projects.
Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and contract structures in alignment with margin recovery and inventory reduction goals.
Partner with Finance to track recovery value, write-down avoidance, and impact to working capital.
Maintain accurate tracking of SLOB sales activity, pipeline, and inventory disposition status.
Provide regular reporting and insights to leadership on SLOB reduction progress, risks, and opportunities.
Support customer visits, site meetings, and field engagement as needed to close transactions.
Ensure compliance with company policies, export controls, and commercial governance standards.
