Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role located in Flint, MI. The Community Organizer will be responsible for engaging with the local community, developing and executing outreach plans, building relationships with community members, and organizing events to support social justice initiatives. The position involves working closely with diverse groups to identify needs, facilitate solutions, and promote collective action for meaningful change.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Community Engagement, Community Organizing, and Community Outreach
Proficiency in Communication, including effective listening, public speaking, and interpersonal skills
Experience in Event Planning and executing community-focused activities
A passion for social justice and creating positive community impact
Ability to collaborate with diverse populations and work effectively in team and individual settings
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for community events
Previous experience in nonprofit work or grassroots organizing is a plus
Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Social Work, Community Development, or a related field is preferred
