
Higgins has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Bid Writer to join our Green Team, based in Hamilton.
In this role, you’ll play an integral part in collating, writing, and ultimately winning tenders for the Higgins Waikato team through high quality, customer focused submissions. You’ll work closely with bid managers, project teams, and subject matter experts to translate technical and commercial information into compelling proposals.
You’ll also support the wider business with pre qualifications, commercial proposals, award submissions, business cases, and presentations, ensuring all documentation is accurate, compliant, and delivered on time.
What you’ll bring to the role:
Previous experience in business writing and/or bid writing, ideally within roading / construction industry
Proven ability to plan, produce, and deliver compliant proposal documents
Strong writing skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively to a business and engineering audience
High attention to detail, while maintaining a strong “big picture” view
Understanding of basic graphic design principles and the ability to collaborate effectively with designers
Strong relationship building skills, with the ability to coordinate inputs and track deliverables
Ability to work under pressure and meet demanding deadlines, supported by strong time management and prioritisation skills
