Title: Industrial Designer

Reports to: VP Product Development

Summary:

As an Industrial Designer, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing the molded interior and exterior components, as well as paint schemes, of motorhomes. Your role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to create innovative, functional, and visually appealing designs that align with market trends and customer preferences.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Generate creative and innovative design concepts for motorhomes based on market trends, user preferences, and functionality requirements. Create sketches, renderings, and 3D models to communicate design concepts to internal teams and stakeholders. Choose appropriate materials, colors, and finishes for both interior and exterior components, considering durability, aesthetics, and overall design cohesion in collaboration with interior designers. Work closely with engineering teams to ensure that design concepts can be feasibly implemented, meeting safety, structural, and technical requirements. Develop mock-ups to test design concepts and make necessary adjustments based on feedback and performance evaluations. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technological advancements, and customer preferences related to motorhome design and recreational vehicles. Work within budget constraints, considering cost-effective design solutions without compromising quality and functionality. Create and maintain detailed design documentation, including specifications, drawings, and design rationale. Collaborate with Product Managers to conduct market research to identify opportunities and ensure designs are aligned with the target demographic and market demand. Qualities:

Strategic thinker who can identify market gaps with long term business benefits. Able to come up with outside the box solutions to complex problems. Able to set clear goals and articulate how those goals fit into the overall strategy. Proven experience as an industrial designer, preferably in the recreational vehicle, automotive, marine, or aerospace industry. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Alias, and Adobe Creative Suite. Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of how things go together and function is a plus Requirements:
