Job Summary The Senior Event Director is the strategic lead for the Roman & Williams events division, responsible for shaping, growing, and protecting the events business across all current and future properties. This role balances long-term vision with high-level client leadership, ensuring that every event reflects the brand’s standards for design, hospitality, and execution.

This position is not day-to-day event management. It is a senior role focused on strategy, structure, team leadership, and elevated client experience, with strong oversight of execution through the events and operations teams. Core Responsibilities Strategy and Growth Own the overall events strategy across La Mercerie, Marcel, the Breuer building, and off-premise events Identify opportunities for growth, refinement, and expansion of the events business Partner with senior leadership on long-term planning, positioning, and revenue goals Ensure scalability as new properties and event formats come online

Client Leadership Own relationships with key clients, planners, and strategic partners Lead high-level sales conversations, pricing strategy, and contract alignment Set the tone for client experience from first conversation through post-event follow-up Ensure proposals and presentations reflect both creative excellence and operational reality

Brand and Experience Oversight Protect the Roman & Williams brand across all event touchpoints Partner closely with the Director of Design to ensure creative consistency and clarity Align with the Director of Hospitality on service philosophy and guest experience Ensure events feel intentional, elevated, and true to each property’s identity

Leadership and Team Structure Lead and mentor the events team, setting clear standards, priorities, and accountability Define roles, workflows, and decision-making structures to support efficient execution Foster strong collaboration between planning, hospitality, culinary, and design Serve as the primary escalation point for complex or high-profile situations

Operational Alignment Work closely with operations and culinary leadership to ensure feasibility and alignment Provide strategic oversight without being embedded in day-to-day logistics Anticipate risk, complexity, and resource needs before they impact delivery Support the team during peak periods or critical events as needed
