
We are looking for bright, energetic porters for our affordable housing locations in Harlem.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, laundry room, locker rooms and other work areas.
Sweeps, scrubs, mops, waxes, and polishes floor and stairways.
Dusts furniture and equipment, vacuum carpets.
Polishes metalwork, cleans tiles and saddles.
Washes wall and woodwork.
Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
Empties wastebaskets.
Clean vacant apartments as required.
Check compactor, remove full compactor garbage bags and put out for pick up per schedule. Sweep, mop and disinfect compactor room.
Replenishes bathroom supplies.
Clean garage, basement area and grounds.
Shovels snow and clears walkways in winter.
Transports small equipment or tools between departments.
Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
