Job Description Olsson is looking for an entry level survey crew chief to work in a fast‑paced data center environment. The position will include reporting to the project site daily and completing layout as requested and coordinated by the project manager with occasional visits to the Des Moines office for coordination and reviews.
Working under the guidance of our professional land survey manager, you will apply your comprehensive understanding of field concepts, practices, and procedures to contribute to the success of the team. This role also offers the opportunity to engage in project management responsibilities including collaborating on project planning and coordination, enhancing your skills while ensuring the quality and precision of survey activities.
You will work in all types of terrain and weather conditions. This role involves working on a confidential project site in Cedar Rapids, IA and occasional visits to the Des Moines, IA office.
This Position Includes
The use of a company truck for transportation to and from job sites.
Applicable PPE (personal protective equipment) provided.
Prescription safety eyewear and work boot reimbursement program.
Company issued laptop.
Cell phone reimbursement options.

You bring to the team:
Ability to contribute and work well on a team
4 years of experience working with a licensed surveyor
Experience with construction staking, boundary surveys, topography surveys, and ALTA surveys is preferred
Valid driver's license with a good driving history
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
