Job Summary:
Processes purchase orders and communicates with end-users and vendors to confirm/track orders.
Job Responsibilities:
Prepares and verifies specifications of purchase orders (POs). Follows-up on outstanding orders, provides departments with back-order information, and offers alternative sources when possible. Obtains usage history of inventory stock items and determines ordering requirements. Consults catalogs, contracts, and vendors to obtain pricing/availability information. Researches and negotiates routine non-contracted organizational purchases. Serves as an initial point of contact regarding inventory, invoice, and vendor inquiries. Resolves issues within scope of authority or escalates issues to appropriate resource. Coordinates monthly with accounting department to close month end and resolves pricing issues and/or discrepancies. Maintains computer files and updates pricing and product changes. Responsible for wound vac and bed rental charges and input. May be required to train new employees within the department and throughout the organization. Skills and Attributes:
Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Works under minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Position Requirements:
