Role Summary We are seeking a Senior Database Management Specialist to design, administer, and optimize large-scale enterprise database environments supporting cloud-based, mission-critical systems. This role focuses on PostgreSQL and MongoDB administration, AWS cloud operations, ETL processes, performance tuning, security, and data governance in a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design and maintain enterprise databases, data lakes, and data warehouses. Administer PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases, including backup, recovery, replication, DR, and high availability. Monitor and optimize database performance, capacity, and costs in production environments. Design, develop, and support ETL processes and large-scale data migrations. Support cloud-based database operations on AWS (EC2, AMIs, CI/CD). Implement database security, RBAC, encryption, and compliance controls. Troubleshoot application and database performance issues. Support system testing, deployments, and operational monitoring. Collaborate with developers, infrastructure, and business teams to deliver scalable and secure solutions.

Required Qualifications

6+ years

of experience with enterprise database design and support. 4+ years

of hands-on PostgreSQL and MongoDB administration. 4+ years

of experience with AWS cloud environments and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, Git, Jira, etc.). Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica), data migrations, and performance tuning. Strong SQL and NoSQL query optimization skills. Experience supporting production databases and batch processing. Experience with Health Insurance Exchange (HIX), ACA, or health and human services systems. Knowledge of EDI transactions (834, 820, 999, 270/271). Experience with disaster recovery planning and security hardening. Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau, Qlik Sense, or Power BI.
