The hire will work on the Direct Lending team, which focuses on providing senior secured loans to middle market companies backed by private equity sponsors. The team is seeking an experienced credit underwriter to join the New York team with the following specific responsibilities and qualifications: Responsibilities
Work closely with the team to structure, underwrite and close transactions Work closely with the team through the due diligence, underwriting, approval and closing process Assist in the negotiation of term sheets, credit agreements and associated legal documents Supervise and mentor junior professionals Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from top tier university 12-15+ years of private credit or similar underwriting experience required Experience and knowledge across relevant industries Leveraged finance background required Demonstrated strong work ethic, commitment to excellence, and unquestionable integrity Highly motivated self-starter who is coachable; willing to embrace a collaborative firm and team culture Ability to analyze and distill company and capital structure information to form a view on risk Possess superb written, verbal, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills Strong quantitative and financial modeling skills Analytically strong and intellectually inquisitive The average salary for this role is $175,000-$225,000 in base pay and is exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, location, skills, training, certifications and education, and in addition we will also consider market data.
