Responsibilities

Lead direct reports in a manner that achieves the properties sales goals and holds them accountable to their essential duties and responsibilities.

Key account management and new account development

Promote the story of the property in the market and participate in community events as required

Develop and implement strategic plans and forecasts to achieve property and corporate objectives

Assist in yield management strategies to maximize occupancy and profitability

Directs training and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and catering programs

Meets with key clients, assisting representative with maintaining relationships, negotiating and closing business

On an ongoing basis, review function space blocking to maximize client flow and revenue optimization

Work to upsell events to achieve higher B & C revenues, AV, and additional needs for clients

Coordinates liaison between sales department and other departments

Prepares periodic report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion

Reviews and analyzes performances against programs, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness

Ensure strategic and effective departmental communication through department meetings

Motivate and encourage team members to creatively approach potential business

Attend meetings as scheduled and hold regular meetings with team members

Other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing or Business (or related field) or equivalent work experience.

Proven experience in hotel sales or a similar role, minimum of five (5) years related experience in management position required.

Proven track record of driving revenue growth and achieving sales targets.

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute effective sales and marketing strategies.

Excellent negotiation and relationship‑building skills.

Proficiency in Delphi, digital marketing platforms, and Microsoft Office

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to accurately report and present to upper management

Strong mathematical and organizational skills

Must have excellent guest service skills (interpersonal) and ability to resolve conflict; Strong supervisory and management skills; must be able to work independently

Demonstrate the ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues

Ability to multi‑task; strong time management & organizational skills

Strategic mindset and ability to analyze market data and trends.

Track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth

Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

Maintain current licenses and permits as prescribed by local, state and federal agencies

Supervisory Responsibilities This job has supervisory responsibilities.

Responsible for staff development and training programs.

Responsible for rewards and recognition program to maximize employee engagement.

Evaluates team members within department and delivers constructive feedback to employees in regards to performance.

Determines recommendation for staffing (including interviewing and hiring) and scheduling (planning, assigning and directing work) to meet business needs.

Determines work procedures and expedites workflow.

Responsible for employee performance (disciplining, coaching, counseling).

Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.

Reasoning Ability Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
