About the role

A-CAP has an immediate opening for a self-motivated, resourceful, and well-organized candidate to join the team as a Senior Actuarial Analyst with an initial focus on Experience Studies, Reserving, Reporting, Data Analysis and Modeling for annuities and life insurance products. This opening will have direct exposure to each of the group’s insurance operating companies as well as close interaction with the company’s management team. The Senior Actuarial Analyst will have the opportunity to participate in many aspects of the company’s actuarial functions and will work closely with leadership from the finance, technology and actuarial teams. This is a rare opportunity for an actuary to contribute to multiple actuarial functions within a high-growth insurance organization.

What you will do

Perform Annuity & Life Insurance modeling, including modeling enhancements using GGY AXIS.\nSupport reserving & reporting activities.\nAssist with reinsurance administration & reporting.\nPerform data analysis.\nSupport pricing as needed.\nSupport subsidiary insurance companies’ other core actuarial functions as needed (valuation, cash flow testing, pro-forma/business planning, risk management, etc.) with opportunities to rotate through various actuarial functions on a short-term basis.\nWork closely with key stakeholders.\nSupport additional actuarial projects as needed.

What you will need

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, actuarial science, or related field with 3+ years of actuarial experience.\nTwo or more exams passed toward the ASA/FSA designation.\nStrong proficiency with MS Office Suite and GGY AXIS (or similar actuarial software). Tech-savvy is a plus.\nExperience with annuity or life products and relevant actuarial work (Experience Studies, Reserving, Pricing, Modeling, etc.).\nStrong organizational skills and ability to communicate in a professional and concise manner, both verbally and written.\nAbility to work independently in an opportunity-rich, dynamic environment with a steep learning curve.

Additional desirable qualifications

Experience with asset modeling, cash flow testing & reinsurance, particularly for fixed annuity products.\nExperience with pre-need and/or final expense life insurance products.\nExperience with US Statutory and/or GAAP financial reporting.

Position type and hours

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., 40 hours weekly, or as otherwise arranged with the manager of the department.
