The Director of Procurement will lead the strategic development of CAI's procurement function, establishing core capabilities across supplier relationship management, strategic sourcing, and procurement operations. This role requires an experienced procurement leader who can build organizational infrastructure, implement governance frameworks, and elevate procurement from a tactical function to a strategic business partner. The ideal candidate brings proven experience designing and executing procurement strategies and can navigate the unique dynamics of professional services, managed services provider (MSP) operations, and contingent workforce procurement. This position offers the opportunity to shape procurement excellence while partnering closely with Finance, IT, and Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) teams to drive organizational value.
**What You'll Do**
+ Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational objectives, establishing policies, procedures, and governance frameworks that support efficient operations
+ Build and mature supplier relationship management (SRM) capabilities, establishing performance frameworks, conducting business reviews, and developing strategic partnerships
+ Design and implement a centralized procurement operating model, establishing clear roles and responsibilities, approval authorities, and spend management controls to replace decentralized purchasing practices
+ Oversee supplier onboarding and master data management operations, leading a team of professionals responsible for supplier information management, data quality, compliance verification, and system maintenance
+ Establish and enforce supplier master data standards and governance, implementing data quality frameworks, cleansing initiatives, and classification/segmentation methodologies to enable accurate reporting and strategic decision-making
+ Optimize procurement technology and systems, particularly Workday Procurement, through workflow design, user experience improvements, integration enhancements, and reporting development to drive adoption and operational efficiency
+ Lead strategic sourcing initiatives and category management across direct and indirect spend categories, conducting market analysis, developing sourcing strategies, and executing competitive bidding processes to optimize cost, quality, and service delivery
+ Develop procurement analytics and insights capabilities, creating dashboards and reports that provide visibility into spend patterns, supplier performance, contract compliance, savings opportunities, and category trends to inform strategic decisions
+ Lead contract negotiation and management activities, ensuring favorable terms and conditions, compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and alignment with organizational risk tolerance in partnership with Legal and GRC teams
+ Drive organizational change management and stakeholder engagement, building buy-in for new procurement processes, conducting training programs, and establishing procurement as a trusted advisor to internal business partners
**What You'll Need**
Required:
+ 6+ years of progressive procurement and supply chain management experience, with at least 3 years in leadership roles overseeing procurement teams, operations, and strategic initiatives
+ Outstanding communication and negotiation skills, including experience presenting to executive leadership and managing complex, high-value negotiations with strategic suppliers
+ Demonstrated experience building, transforming, or significantly maturing a procurement organization, including developing governance structures, implementing processes and systems, and establishing procurement as a strategic function
+ Strong experience with supplier relationship management, including supplier segmentation, performance scorecards, business reviews, and developing strategic partnerships that extend beyond transactional relationships
+ Hands-on experience with procurement systems and technology, particularly enterprise procurement platforms (Workday, SAP Ariba, Coupa, or similar), including implementation, optimization, or significant process redesign
+ Expertise in supplier master data management, data governance, and data quality frameworks, with demonstrated ability to establish standards and lead data cleansing or migration initiatives
+ Strong analytical capabilities and experience with procurement analytics, spend analysis, and data visualization tools to translate data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations
+ Excellent change management and organizational development skills, with proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, drive adoption of new processes, and build collaborative relationships across organizational boundaries
+ Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field
Preferred:
+ Master's degree (MBA, MS in Supply Chain Management) or professional certifications such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management), CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager), CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional), or similar credentials
+ Experience in professional services, management consulting, or staffing industries, with understanding of services procurement, statement of work management, and project-based business models
+ Direct experience with Managed Service Provider (MSP) programs, Vendor Management Systems (VMS), and contingent workforce procurement strategies, including talent acquisition and staffing supplier networks
+ Background supporting public sector clients or government contracting environments, including familiarity with compliance requirements, supplier diversity mandates, and procurement regulations
+ Proficiency with procurement analytics platforms, business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI), or advanced Excel capabilities for spend analysis, forecasting, and data visualization
