Overview
This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections.
Role and Responsibilities
Conduct a technical SEO audit of SmartResponse.org with the goal of producing prioritized, developer-ready recommendations.
Cover site structure, metadata, page speed, crawlability, indexing, schema, redirects, and analytics tracking.
Coordinate with the Disaster Accountability Project / SmartResponse.org team; analytics/CMS access and target pages will be provided during interviews.
Work with the team to ensure findings are actionable; regular check-ins available to clarify context and prioritize phased implementation.
Impact and Outcomes Improving SEO will increase visibility of SmartResponse and the organizations listed on the platform, helping donors identify organizations on-the-ground and respond to disasters more effectively.
Context and Mission Disaster Accountability Project / SmartResponse.org Mission: Disaster Accountability Project saves lives and reduces suffering by maximizing the effectiveness, efficiency, and equity of disaster preparedness, response, relief, and recovery through oversight, transparency, advocacy, and public education.
Logistics We have organizational buy-in to act on findings. Details about analytics accounts, any website access, and a liaison on our Dev team will be provided for the volunteer. Our team will be available for regular check-ins to clarify context and prioritize recommendations for phased implementation.
