We are seeking an Associate to serve as a Client Portfolio Manager (CPM) to support the Goldman Sachs US Multi-Asset Solutions (MAS) model portfolio business.
The CPM will support the creation and delivery of model portfolio insights to our financial advisor clients. The individual will produce multi-asset investment content, portfolio thought leadership, and portfolio related collateral designed to promote our models within the Financial Advisor ecosystem as well as support the models specialist sales team in the field. This is a client-facing role that combines expertise in investments, the retail asset management industry, and business commerciality in a high-growth, high-visibility area of the firm. Principal Responsibilities
Investment Content and Thought Leadership
Support the delivery of portfolio construction expertise, education, and market insights through the production of GS Multi-Asset Solution Models Collaborate with portfolio managers, internal research teams, and sales and marketing to create thought leadership for impactful client engagement and advisor events (webinars, conferences) Produce portfolio content geared toward the Financial Advisors community and work on commercial narratives for the sales team including portfolio & model specialists and wholesalers Work closely with the senior CPMs and research team to create timely market driven content around major market or macroeconomic events (Desk Notes, CIO Notes) Keep abreast of industry research and communicate findings to proactively stay ahead of major trends in the model’s industry Work cross-divisionally with sales, research, and other investment centers to drive forward major models initiatives across investments, marketing, sales, and technology Client Engagement
Drive commercial outcomes through client engagement, including client calls/meetings and creating and delivering client proposals (i.e. for custom models) Serve as product expert and point-of-contact on GSAM custom models to clients and when working with our sales partners in the field Work closely with GSAM research teams, portfolio managers, and the models specialist sales team to prepare model portfolio marketing materials (trade alerts, quarterly commentaries, CIO notes, market driven content) Work with investment teams to identify new product development opportunities in the context of rapidly evolving industry trends Conduct competitive analyses, peer group analyses and overall market research and keep senior leadership apprised of notable developments Work with distribution channels, senior MAS portfolio managers, and portfolio consultants to drive business opportunities from pitching our capabilities to coordinating model delivery and content strategy Serve as a GS Models expert by delivering Portfolio Construction expertise, education, and market insights through the presentation of GS Multi Asset Solution Models content in client meetings and other events Skills & Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or equivalent), CFA strongly preferred, minimum of 5 years of relevant experience Intermediary / Retail Asset Management / Models experience a must Experience crafting model portfolio marketing narratives for a retail FA audience strongly preferred Series 7 and Series 63 licenses are required (or will be sponsored by the firm if not already completed) Investment credibility through previous product or portfolio management experience in at least one asset class Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, especially the ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms Strong work ethic and a commercial perspective Strong technical skills including high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, and familiarity with industry data through such sources as Morningstar Direct, Cerulli, PSN, Bloomberg, and FactSet. Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $100,000 - $170,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end. Benefits
