Descripción completa del empleo As a pb2 Mechanical Designer, you will be part of a team designing and producing HVAC and plumbing construction documents for retail, grocery, convenience stores, fuel stations and commercial buildings. You will apply basic to intermediate HVAC + plumbing principles to complete design computations, prepare written reports, produce construction documents and details. You will work with the Project Engineer to make project decisions based upon factors such as client requirements, building constraints, and local/state/national regulations. This is a salaried, full time position working in our offices located in beautiful Northwest Arkansas. A

remote work option

is available to candidates based on experience and suitability.

Qualifications & Skills:

Work Visa Sponsorship will not be provided

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited program preferred

Prefer two or more years’ experience in mechanical/plumbing design with Bachelor’s degree

Minimum four years’ experience without Bachelor’s degree

Mechanical Engineer Intern (EI or EIT) registration

Desire to achieve PE license

Experience in design of HVAC and plumbing systems

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Multi-tasking and time management skills

Proficient in REVIT, AutoCAD, Bluebeam

Knowledge of Carrier HAP, ComCheck, Energy Pro, HVAC Manufacturer Selection Software, REVIT Dynamo

Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, Microsoft Teams

Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Prepare working drawings and perform calculations in support of broader engineering activities, ensuring the concepts fall within schedule and budget for the project.

Gather and record information to be used for determining and selecting the proper equipment.

Work with multiple project teams and disciplines to produce fully coordinated construction documents and ensure there are no conflicts or interferences between designed systems.

Ensure that all design work is within the preliminary scope definition and comply with all applicable codes.

Communicate appropriate information on project status, scope changes and problem areas to Project Engineer.

Maintain current knowledge of mechanical/plumbing codes, energy codes as well as design and construction procedures to meet changing priorities. Ability to research and resolve code issues.

Produce drawings and designs in accordance with company production and design standards.

Promote, utilize, and support quality assurance and quality control processes to improve the quality of deliverables and reduce design errors & omissions.

Ability to manage project schedules and budgets.

Willingness to travel to project locations on a limited basis.

Licensure:

Current library of testing/study materials

Bonus when PE license is achieved

Paid time off to take exam

Work Schedule/Hours: Monday –Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST, one hour lunch from 12:00 – 1:00 PM. Hours greater than 40 per week may be required.

Physical Activity Level: Generally sedentary physical activity performing non-strenuous daily tasks, including frequent typing, computer use in an office setting. Visual verification of small details on screen. Occasional air travel or driving to project sites may be required. Occasional lifting
