Bachelor's degree in human resource management, organizational management, business or public administration, or a related field; two years of experience in a Human Resources (HR) environment (five preferred); or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of time reporting, leave time, benefits, career development, etc. Experience with Microsoft Office and knowledge of basic office equipment; experience in composing correspondence and memos; experience in tracking and analyzing data; must be able to communicate well both orally and in writing. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check (including polygraph exam), and education/degree verification required. This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justices Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy and therefore requires passing a more stringent criminal background check. Must be a US citizen or have been a lawful resident of the US for the past ten consecutive years. This position is considered Critical Safety Sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing. The use of medical marijuana for this position is prohibited. This part-time position assists the Human Resources Unit with tracking and analyzing data; assists with the coverage of the main desk and/or coverage of the Administration office. Provides guidance, assistance and information to department supervisors on routine human resources-related matters. Facilitates and coordinates assigned HR processes implementing associated policies and procedures. Creates, maintains, and updates files, records and reports; ensures accuracy and completeness of confidential personnel files and documents. Assists in researching, compiling, analyzing and summarizing data and information for decision-making, reports and special projects, and makes recommendations as requested. Prepares and facilitates a variety of human resources transactions for accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures. Interprets, applies and explains human resources policies, procedures, laws and regulations. Assists with the development and implementation of procedures and processes for all Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) software applications, assists with the development and implementation of procedures and processes for all HRIS software applications. Perform other work as required. This position is a part of an approved Career Development Plan (CDP) and offers career progression opportunities and salary incentives, as funding permits, based on performance, qualification, and experience. Approximately 28 hours/week; Monday - Friday between 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Sheriff's Office
