POSITION Job Title: Sr. Designer (Mechanical of Structural)

Job Type: Full Time - Hourly

Salary: $85k-$110k per year

STANDARD BENEFITS Paid Time Off: 80-hours per year for new employees, higher as tenure increases

Health Insurance: Blue Cross-Blue Shield, $500/mo. company contribution

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES We are a fabrication company that specializes in Design Build. Our niche is that we offer a wide variety of engineering and shop fabricated builds for the petrochemical and agribusiness, throughout the US and Canada. Our projects include process equipment, structural steel, miscellaneous steel, lifting devices, tanks, foundations, piping, and specialty construction equipment. The array of drawings we create ranges from multi discipline plant projects down to detailed fabrication drawings for shop fabrication.

American Ingenuity is the engineering branch of business with significant potential to develop into leader in the industry for technical knowhow and ability. We are currently experiencing growing pains and seeking a qualified candidate to strengthen our team. The creation of this position is expected to strengthen the design department by bringing in experience, know how, and manpower.

In general, you will be responsible for all aspects of drawing package development. You will function in different roles from time to time depending on needs such as estimating, customer coordination, drawing production, and checking. You will be expected to manage your time and multiple simultaneous projects.

You will work closely with engineers, draftsman, shop managers, CNC operators, fitters, procurement, QC, and customers. You are expected to be a strong member of a highly productive team.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop Mechanical or Structural Design Drawing Packages

Develop Shop Fabrication Detailed Drawings

Estimate your work

Peer Check drawings

Make site visits to gather project information

REQUIRED KNOWLDEGE & SKILLS

Experience with developing any of these types of drawings: Structural Steel, ASME pressure vessels, API steel tanks, other steel structures, lifting equipment, piping iso’s, concrete structures, skids, machinery.

Strong attention to detail.

Strong abilities using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.

Strong abilities and experience using laser scan data.

Strong organizational skills and methods

Strong background reading various types of drawings and specifications

Significant experience in Petrochemical industry

Familiarity with developing CAD files for CNC processing.

Familiarity with Quality Assurance and Quality Control for this type of work

Strong knowledge of how these types of equipment and structures are fabricated

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Technical Degree

10 years minimum experience

Hands-on fabrication or construction experience

Laser Scanning Experience
