This position will evaluate and classify properties within Nicollet County, calculate new construction changes and provide value estimates for proposed residential improvements and developments, respond to taxpayers’ requests, and attend Board of Appeal and Equalization Meetings.
Evaluates properties; classifies all property to appropriate classes. (Daily)
30% C4 Performs equalization and appraisal of properties county-wide. (Daily)
20% C4 Calculates new construction changes and provides value estimates for proposed residential improvements and developments county-wide. (Daily)
20% C4 Responds to taxpayers requests for information. (Daily)
10% B2 Conducts property research and prepares special reports. (Daily)
10% C4 Attends Board of Appeal and Equalization meetings; acts as an advisor and consultant to the Board; may assist the County Assessor to investigate and report on any assessment order. (As needed)
5% C4 Performs other duties of a similar nature or level. (As required)
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree in real estate or a related field, and 2 years of appraisal experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the duties of the position; and
Must be an Accredited Minnesota Assessor (AMA) or must have the ability to be licensed as an AMA within the allowable statutory timeframe; and
Must have a valid Minnesota driver’s license and have a reliable automobile for county related business.
