Role We are seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive DTCC Settlements/Buy‑In Associate to join our Operations team. This role plays a critical part in supporting our fixed‑income trading desks and post‑trade lifecycle workflow. Primary emphasis will be on monitoring settlement transactions and fails, confirming and matching trades with counterparties, and proactively managing the firm buy‑in process. The ideal candidate will have experience in settlement and buy‑in workflows with an understanding of trade lifecycle management, and a commitment to operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor DTC settlement activity to ensure fails‑to‑deliver and fails‑to‑receive positions are resolved in a timely and accurate manner.
Review fixed‑income trading activity to confirm transactions are properly matched and settled with trading counterparties.
Communicate with internal teams and external counterparties to investigate, elevate, and resolve settlement‑related inquiries and issues.
Perform daily cash and position reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of books and records.
Process and manage the daily buy‑in workflow to mitigate market and operational risk for Millennium.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field.
1‑3 years of experience in a Settlement or Buy‑In related role, with exposure to fixed‑income products.
Solid understanding of DTC Settlements and post‑trade lifecycle workflows.
Be detail‑oriented and creative in identifying ways to streamline current processes.
Excellent communication skills with internal and external counterparties.
Thrive in a fast‑paced work environment where multi‑tasking is key.
Be a team player who can work closely with a variety of functional areas of the firm.
Preferred Skills
Direct experience using DTC Settlement Web, SMART/TRACK for Buy‑Ins, and ALERT products.
Understanding of Broadridge Shadow system.
