Heritage Insurance is seeking an experienced an EXPERIENCED
Personal Lines Underwriter
with a strong understanding of the
Texas market
to support our growing agency network. In this role, you’ll review, evaluate, and price new and renewal business, assess risk, and make sound underwriting decisions—while building trusted relationships with our agents and delivering top-tier service.

What You’ll Do
Review, evaluate, and rate new business submissions within assigned underwriting authority
Assess risk and determine appropriate actions using inspections, reports, and available data
Underwrite renewal business and make cancellation or non-renewal decisions when necessary
Review and process endorsements, reinstatements, cancellations, and eligibility requests
Request and analyze additional documentation needed to support underwriting decisions
Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned agents, delivering responsive and consistent service
Build and maintain strong producer relationships to drive new business growth and retention
Support agents with policy processing systems, underwriting guidelines, quoting, issuing, and servicing business
Review and analyze performance data for assigned agents or territories
Collaborate closely with Underwriting, Operations, Product Management, Claims, and Sales teams
Communicate underwriting guidelines, products, and coverage details clearly to internal and external partners
Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations and company policies
Identify and remove obstacles to improve the overall agent experience
Use independent judgment to resolve issues and manage special projects as assigned
Travel to agent offices, trade shows, conventions, and meetings as needed
What We’re Looking For
Demonstrated knowledge of the Texas insurance market (required)
2+ years of Property & Casualty underwriting REQUIRED
Strong customer service mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Results-driven with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Highly detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
Willingness and ability to travel as needed
Collaborative team player who contributes to a positive work environment
