Structure:

The Director of Operations, Academic Health Enterprise is an exempt (salaried) position employed by the University of Cincinnati Foundation (UCF) and reports to the Vice President for Development, Academic Health Enterprise.

Focus:

The Director of Operations provides high-level support to the Vice President for Development, coordinating and executing special projects and key initiatives as assigned by the Vice President for Development, Academic Health Enterprise.

Requirements:

Manage projects and initiatives of institutional importance as assigned by the Vice President for Development, Academic Health Enterprise from idea through implementation.

Serve as the representative of the Vice President to all internal and external parties, help manage and plan the Vice President’s work through frequent communication, follow‑up on open items and deadlines, identify and appropriately resolve issues brought to the attention of the Vice President, and prepare, assemble and brief the Vice President for Development on all materials required for daily schedule.

Manage logistical support for the Vice President, including prepare agendas and record/distribute minutes (as necessary); draft and/or create and prepare correspondence and distribute (mail, email, fed‑ex, etc.) internal and external correspondence and documents, as needed; maintain office files and research materials; open/read departmental mail (forward and follow‑up, as necessary).

Through the direction of the Vice President, plan and manage Vice President’s annual budget, including setting annual budgets, preparing forecasts, and briefing the Vice President on monthly budget reports.

Perform complex administrative duties, including composing correspondence, reports, presentations, policies, procedures, and training materials on a wide variety of matters, many of which may be sensitive and confidential.

Recruit, lead, motivate and manage Development Coordinator; establish objectives, and evaluate performance; provide appropriate levels of training, mentoring and professional development. Assign and direct projects and oversee day‑to‑day operations.

Meet with development leads to review, track, share information, and prioritize deliverables.

Independently lead and execute identified assignments and projects including preparation, analysis and briefing on all key operations data with quick turnaround and little outside assistance.

Track and report on project milestones and provide status reports, as appropriate.

Maintain weekly/monthly/quarterly productivity reporting from the academic health enterprise.

In conjunction with VP of Information & Enterprise Risk, draft and maintain policies and procedures related to the compliant use of PHI, especially as it relates to Grateful Patient and Family Program.

Plan departmental retreats and trainings.

Handle confidential and sensitive information with high level of discretion.

Other duties, as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree preferred with 5-7 years of relevant experience or advanced degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience.

Strong organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail, to include anticipating needs, and managing multiple, time-sensitive and complex tasks

Resourcefulness in finding appropriate solutions to problems and initiative in presenting alternative solutions; ability to anticipate problems and take necessary action to mitigate negative effects.

Displays high degree of professionalism in order to maintain confidential information, deal with people tactfully, and help establish strong relationships and positive communication

Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to interact favorably with a diverse range of individuals both internal, external, and throughout the University of Cincinnati

Knowledge of administrative procedures, software applications (such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) records management systems, and other business procedures and terminology

A commitment to and passion for the role of development in advancing the missions of the University of Cincinnati and UC Health

What We Offer

The anticipated starting salary range for the

Director of Operations, Academic Health Enterprise

role is

$75,000 to $90,000 annually . When determining final offer amount the UC Foundation considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, external market data, as well as, market and business considerations when making compensation decisions.
