
Director of Operations

Overview
The Director of Operations reports directly to the Chief Operations Officer and provides leadership and direction to all health center locations as assigned. This position is expected to guide the coordination of multiple departments to organize cross functional teams to remove barriers. Will assist in directing the implementation of new programs, staff functions and training systems that will enhance and improve patient care, quality improvement outcomes, productivity, and decrease cots without sacrificing patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities Works closely with the health center managers and other members of the health center management team to:
Provide guidance and oversight of health center operations.
Coaches and mentors health center management personnel.
Assesses health center operations to identify administrative and process issues.
Works closely with the Director of Clinical Services to identify clinical issues.
Assists in preparation of and oversight health center budgets.
Attends outside meetings and represents UHC at public and professional meetings and conferences as required.
Coordinates the uniform ordering process on an annual basis for UHC.
Will coordinate and participate in outreach and marketing programs.
Assists in developing patient service procedures and protocols and ensures consistency throughout UHC.
Will participate in health center staff evaluations as necessary.
Oversees and participates in site review inspections and correction of deficiencies with Director of Clinical Services, Quality improvement and Clinical Services Officer.
Coordinates learning and development initiatives at the health center level.
PERFORMANCE AREA 1: Health Center Performance : Responsible for working with the site management teams and executive and senior leadership teams to development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices.
Supports the overall operation of the health center by providing guidance and oversight of health center operations through leadership and oversight of health center management staff.
Coaches and mentors health center management staff to ensure that they are able to support goals of the health center.
Ensures the smooth implementation of changes within the health center environment by communicating and working closely with interdepartmental and programmatic managers to ensure functional working relationships within the organization.
Assesses health center operations to identify administrative issues and will work closely with the Director of Clinical Services to identify clinical issues and will recommend potential solutions aimed at improving patient and staff satisfaction.
Assists in preparation of and administration of site budgets.
Represent the health center as needed at public and professional meetings and conferences as required. This extends to attending outside meetings as required.
Works with Health Center Managers to coordinate the uniform ordering process on an annual basis for UHC.
Work with outreach personnel to coordinate and participate in outreach and marketing programs designed to strengthen community awareness of the organization.
Serves as a member of the Senior Leadership Team to serve as a liaison to the executive leadership team and the Health Center Site Management.
Participates with the Executive Leadership Team for long term strategic planning, program development, and policy and procedure formulation and revision.
Works closely with the Chief Medical Officer, Clinical Services Officer, and Associate Medical Director's in developing patient service procedures and protocols and ensures consistency throughout the organization.
Recommends staffing levels of Health Center Management staff to be employed, participates in their recruitment, interviewing, and selection, and recommends termination of employment when necessary.
Will participate and provide feedback for health center staff evaluations as necessary.
Initiates and maintains calendar of events for projects. Is responsible to management and oversight of the calendar.
Oversees and participates in site review inspections and correction of deficiencies with Director of Clinical Services, Quality Improvement and Clinical Services Officer.
Work with Health Center Managers to coordinate staff coverage to ensure that all sites are adequately staff on a daily basis to meet the needs of the patients. This may require overseeing staffing and working with the health center managers to move personnel from site to site.
Coordinates and participates in taskforces and committees as needed.
Coordinates and participates in training of health center staff as necessary.
Qualifications EDUCATION:
Requires a B.S. Degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or a related field. Masters degree preferred. Experience in lieu of B.S. degree may be applied for position.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
Possession of a valid California driver's license.
PRIOR EXPERIENCE:
Five to eight (5-8) years experience in health care management.
SKILLS
Strong critical thinking skills and problem solving skills.
Excellent verbal and writing skills
Strong history of project management. Ability to establish goals, timelines, and action plans.
Able to quickly build and maintain rapport with patients and providers of differing backgrounds; team player
Customer-service oriented
Modern office practices and procedures including (Outlook).
Strong computer skills (expert level): including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Familiar with adult learning and general training techniques

The Salary range that UHC reasonably expects to pay for the position upon hire starts at $102,995.16. Our salaries are dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.
