SPS is actively seeking a skilled
Estimator
to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for delivering precise and timely estimates on various projects within the Glass, Glazing, Curtain Wall, and Metal Panels industry. If you have expertise in these areas and are eligible to work in the U.S., we want to hear from you! Key Responsibilities: Gather and organize Bid Documents (Blueprints, Specifications, Scope of Work) from diverse sources such as Emails and Client FTP Sites on the company share drive for each assigned project. Thoroughly review drawings and specifications to identify the scope of work and required items for each takeoff. Compile a comprehensive takeoff of all exterior glass, interior glass, and potentially metal panel quantities needed for the project, utilizing measurements in Square Feet, Lineal Feet, and Count. Collect material pricing and application instructions from various vendors for the project requirements, ensuring all quotes are securely stored for future reference. Participate in jobsite visits and pre-bid meetings as necessary. Collaborate with the Supervisor to review completed takeoffs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in estimates submitted for each project. Read and interpret drawings, conceptualizing the building design effectively. Monitor bid dates for assigned projects to guarantee timely completion of takeoffs. Communicate with clients to address questions or clarifications, organizing all responses to enhance bid documents. Requirements: A degree in Architectural or Engineering/Construction Management, or equivalent experience in the construction field. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Windows, and Bluebeam; ability to adapt to new software programs is essential. Strong ability to read drawings and systematically measure components into a clear format. Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
