
Role Summary
FM COE Director, Soft Services leads the development and continuous improvement of Workplace Services, including Soft Services, within the Facilities Management organization. They are the primary owner of Workplace Services policies, standards, and best practices and SME for all Workplace Services activities, driving cross-functional collaboration across regions. The role requires strong communication, facilities-management experience, and experience with outsourced facilities organizations across Supply Chain and non-Supply Chain sites. Location options include Anasco, Guaynabo, Gurabo, Manatí, San Lorenzo (Puerto Rico); New Brunswick, NJ; Remote (US). Responsibilities
Champion the FM Soft Services framework (policies, governance, standards, systems, processes) to optimize high-quality FM soft services across all J&J Facilities, ensuring global consistency through collaboration with enabling functions, business and global peers. Ensure alignment of standards policies and procedures relating to self-services. Develop and implement comprehensive soft services strategies across regions. Ensure strategies are aligned with organizational standards, regional needs, and regulatory requirements. Ensure policies and standards remain aligned with evolving regulations, organizational needs, and industry best practices. Support the FM organization to successfully implement standards, conduct audits, and resolve non-conformance issues. Oversee the implementation of FM standards and policies across all regions. Maintain the Workplace playbook, outlining essential policies and best practices. Champion E&PS FM Soft Services strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with the business and enabling partners aligned with operational goals and long-term vision. Lead and support regional FM projects related to soft services from planning through execution with timely delivery and quality standards. Collaborate with regional teams to optimize service delivery, operational efficiency, and improve the overall employee and customer experience. Provide fiduciary oversight of operating and capital budgets, ensuring financial stewardship and performance accountability. Drive integration and alignment across global functions, regional FM roles, and outsourced providers to enable seamless service delivery and strategic execution. Cultivate and sustain strategic partnerships between FM ops, Business, and enabling functions (EHS, Global Security, Service providers and others) to align facilities strategy with business objectives and operational priorities. Own vendor relationships, ensuring performance and issue resolution aligned with business priorities. Collaborate with Service Partners in the identification and deployment of efficiency, risk and cost reduction initiatives. Global contract trend analysis to identify common themes across regions; analyze changes within regional MSAs to understand drivers. Monitor overall IFM Soft Services global performance. Ensure robust business continuity and infrastructure management standards and processes are in place, tested and aligned with enterprise risk frameworks, and monitor delivery. Monitor service performance metrics, conduct regular reviews, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Drive innovation in self-service offerings to enhance quality, safety, and sustainability. Own the integrity of FM Soft Services data, ensuring accuracy to support global performance metrics, reporting, and strategic decision‑making. Act as the senior stakeholder and SME, providing strategic insight and representation on all Workplace Services activities at senior levels. Act as the primary owner for managing organizational change requests impacting Workplace Services, ensuring stakeholder engagement and smooth transitions. Maintain accountability for the integrity, consistency, and compliance of all Workplace Services policies, standards, and process documentation. Within a global context, develop standards and policies for FM regional implementation, including site classification, SSP, KPIs and service standards. Collaborate with Enabling Functions including Global Security and EH&S to align FM Standards. Lead the deployment of FM and E&PS strategies, translating global initiatives into actionable regional plans with measurable outcomes. Qualifications
Required: University/Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business, Architecture or similar. Preferred: Master of Science degree in Engineering, Business, Architecture or similar. Required: A minimum of ten (10) years of related work experience. Required: Strong proven experience in Facilities Soft Services and Global supplier management within a healthcare and manufacturing environment. Required: A minimum of five (5) years’ experience of people management. Required: Experience related to service delivery, risk management, quality, safety, and compliance. Required: Knowledge of business strategy and projected business unit requirements for the workplace, infrastructure, real property, and facilities, including impact on the portfolio plan. Required: Ability to make decisions across business units with authority. Preferred: Experience working with and socializing strategies within a complex regionally driven organization. Required: Experience leading a facilities function at multinational enterprise in a global organization (Supply and non‑supply chain). Required: Experience in managing large‑scale service providers. Education
University/Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business, Architecture or similar (required). Master of Science degree in Engineering, Business, Architecture or similar (preferred). Additional Requirements
