The Role at a glance: We are looking to add a motivated, effective food service director to our Elior Collegiate Dining team in Buckhannon, WV. As a food service director, you will have the opportunity to lead a talented team of food service workers and manage all aspects of a food service department to ensure that customers and clients never miss a meal. If you have a strong catering and retail background, a passion for client relationships, and a positive, solutions-focused attitude, we want to hear from you.
What you’ll be doing: Managing all functions of the food service department and its resources
Leading and developing a team of associates, including hiring, training, and performance management
Ensuring all culinary, safety, and sanitation standards and regulations are met
Overseeing department budgeting, including purchasing ingredients and ensuring the account meets financial targets and forecasts
Collaborating with the district manager and other departments on technical and administrative aspects of dining services
Building and maintaining strong client relationships
Addressing and resolving customer service needs with professionalism and urgency
Driving catering and retail excellence to enhance the overall dining experience
What we’re looking for: Must-Haves At least two years of experience coordinating food service operations
Strong catering and retail food service background
Previous experience with industrial cooking
Great positive attitude with a hands‑on, leadership mindset
Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively engage both clients and team members
Experience communicating with hourly staff as well as company executives
Ability to manage in a diverse environment with a strong focus on client and customer service satisfaction
Experience with and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications
Nice-to-Haves ServSafe and/or HACCP certification
Compensation Range Compensation for this position is up to $75,000/year based on experience.
