We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented and dedicated Immigration Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of immigration law and demonstrate excellent organizational skills. As an Immigration Paralegal, you will play a critical role in supporting attorneys with various aspects immigration cases, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and timely filed.
Duties
Assist attorney with case organization and meeting deadlines
Assist attorneys in preparing and filing immigration applications and petitions.
Conduct legal research to support case preparation and strategy.
Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are properly filed.
Interview clients to gather necessary information for immigration cases when necessary.
Draft correspondence, legal documents, and reports as needed.
Monitor deadlines for filing applications and responding to requests for evidence.
Collaborate with other staff to collect required documentation for their cases.
Stay updated on changes in immigration laws and regulations as the attorney explains them
Requirements
Bachelor's degree is required.
Master's preferred.
Ability to speak Spanish not required. Some familiarity preferred.
Must have professional lever writing in English, with impeccable writing style and grammar
Ability to contact law enforcement agencies to request certifications and court records
Ability to make sure that every case is moving forward
Ability to draft letters to other attorneys, government agencies and judges
Proven experience as a Paralegal, preferably in immigration law or in any area that focused on critical analysis of difficult subject matter and highly professional level writing in English.
Strong skills in legal research and writing.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
Proficient in filing legal documents and maintaining accurate records.
Strong interviewing skills to effectively communicate with clients.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with immigration law is a plus but not required.
