Job Description Ryan Auto Mall is excited to announce a career opportunity for a dedicated and skilled Parts Counter Person. This full-time position is open to motivated individuals who are ready to contribute to the success of our well-established automotive dealership. It's essential to note that this job requires the candidate's physical presence at our facilities; therefore, it is not a remote position.

As a vital member of our Parts Department, the Parts Counter Person will have the opportunity to directly interact with customers and staff, enhancing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our parts operations. The person in this role will be responsible for managing parts inventory, assisting both external customers and internal service departments, and ensuring that all interactions and transactions meet our high standards of customer service and accuracy.

Duties and Responsibilities

Interact with customers and service technicians to identify needed parts and accessories effectively.

Look up parts and quote prices for both internal and external inquiries in a timely and efficient manner.

Advise customers and technicians on the selection of parts, suggesting alternatives when specific parts are not available.

Process orders and requests from the technical team and external clients.

Manage inventory control, ensuring that all parts are adequately stocked and recorded.

Handle transactions and process payments for parts purchases.

Arrange the display of parts department items to ensure visibility and accessibility in the store.

Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with company and safety policies.

Perform regular checks to verify parts availability on hand and order items when necessary from suppliers.

Stay updated with the latest information and changes in automotive parts and products.

Participate in training and workshops to enhance product knowledge and improve sales skills.

Assess and resolve any discrepancies in parts inventory including losses or surpluses.

Work collaboratively with team members from other departments to optimize customer satisfaction and business performance.

Maintain confidentiality of company information and adhere to administrative guidelines and policies.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Proven experience working in an auto parts sales or similar role.

Strong knowledge of automotive parts and systems, coupled with the ability to look up and quote parts efficiently.

Excellent communication and customer service skills, with an ability to engage constructively with staff and customers.

Capability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Basic computer skills, including proficiency in parts inventory and point of sale (POS) systems.

Physical ability to lift and move heavy parts and objects when necessary.

Attention to detail and a strong aptitude for organization and time management.

Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.

Commitment to ongoing professional development and training in parts department operations.

Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
