Location: 74 South San Gabriel Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91107 Camp Dates: 6/22/2026 (Mon) - 8/14/2026 (Fri) (plus one weekend to set up, one weekend to break down, and an orientation date) Camp Hours: 8:00 am - 6:00 pm (actual shifts may vary) Hourly Wage: $22.00 - $24.50 per hour (actual compensation will depend on experience and other relevant factors)

The job in a nutshell
is to help run all facets of a self‑directed camp.
While working alongside a Director who leads each camp, you’ll build relationships with hundreds of parents and children, help them overcome fears, discover passions, and find their groove. You’ll train, lead, and inspire a team, and oversee day‑to‑day operations to keep things running smoothly and safely. You may manage camp operations without the Director on site, including opening or closing the location. This role is a training ground and pipeline for future directors.

Are you passionate about sharing your knowledge & learning something new (even from a 3rd grader in the sewing studio)?
Job Responsibilities Staff members will facilitate activities, make connections, and monitor safety and wellness. Some will create and/or oversee activity spaces where campers self‑select activities; others will work in rotating support roles throughout camp. Activities include sewing, stop‑motion animation, maker space, performing arts, arts and crafts, lounging, recreation, and more.
Additional Job Responsibilities
Actively supervising campers
Maintaining an organized and approachable activity space
Ensuring compliance with Camp Policies
Reporting & recording details of notable concerns or incidents, including injuries to campers, other staff, or self
Keeing track of camper allergies and dietary restrictions
Adding daily updates and photos to campers’ profiles
Job Requirements
At least 18 years of age with a High School Diploma or GED
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
At least 2 months of experience working in a camp, or 1 year in an education or child‑care setting required

You may be asked to chaperone campers on an off‑site field trip where venues require it
Additional Job Requirements
Past management or leadership experience preferred
On‑site management at camp can be physically demanding, with extended periods on feet, outside, or requiring physical exertion
Preferred: Meets local Camp Director qualifications or is a previous Steve & Kate’s Camp employee
Physical Requirements This position requires compliance with immunization, physical screening, and health & safety training. You will work on site in a school‑aged camp setting to provide supervision, care, program delivery, and services per policies and regulations, ensuring the safety of children.
Maintain and follow all safety and health rules of the location
Organize and maintain clean and accessible activity spaces
Assist in camp set‑up and breakdown during move‑in and out weekends
Stand for long periods while supervising children and facilitating activities
Participate in athletic games
