Flint Hills Masterworks Chorale is seeking a Director to conduct weekly rehearsals, direct performances and help us share our love of choral music with the Manhattan community.
Responsibilities
Cultivate a welcoming, supportive atmosphere for Chorale members during weekly rehearsals (Tuesday evenings) and performances
Support Chorale members in improving their musical and vocal skills
Select music for performances, in consultation with the Board
Communicate with Chorale members about rehearsals and performances
Plan and coordinate performances (two per year), including dates, venue selection, guest musicians and other logistics
Collaborate and communicate with rehearsal and performance accompanists
Attend Board meetings (usually 3-4 each year)
Qualifications
Track record of success in conducting choral groups
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field is strongly preferred
Positive references from choral groups conducted in the past
Compensation
Commensurate with experience, paid as an independent contractor
