Role Summary
The Associate Director, Supply Chain - Materials leads the requisitioning, receiving, inventory management, and disposition of drug product ingredients and single-use components, as well as supplies and spare parts used in pharmaceutical production and testing at the GMP manufacturing center. They oversee Material Resource Planning, including the selection and ongoing operation of the MRP system, and manage the material flow to ensure on-time delivery of commercial drug products. The role collaborates cross-functionally with quality, production, purchasing, and accounting to ensure materials are on hand to produce, test, package, and ship drug products. This position is based in Indianapolis, Indiana, U.S., reporting to the Sr Director, Supply Chain & Planning, with minimal travel up to 10% to local sites.
Responsibilities
Management and oversight of the requisitioning, receiving, inventory management, and disposition of drug product ingredients and single-use components, as well as supplies and spare parts, used in pharmaceutical production and testing at the pharmaceutical GMP manufacturing center.
Material Resource Planning, including the selection, establishment, and ongoing operations of the MRP system.
Management of the material flow and successful delivery of commercial drug products to the logistics team.
The preferred candidate will work cross functionally with quality, production, purchasing, and accounting, and ensure materials are on hand at all times needed to produce, test, package and ship drug product.
The position is based in Indianapolis, Indiana, U.S. and directly reports to the Sr Director, Supply Chain & Planning. Minimal travel, up to 10%, is possible to local sites.
Qualifications
Required: 5+ years of experience working in materials, inventory, and/or warehouse management at regulated manufacturing facility.
Required: 2+ years of supervising and managing direct reports.
Skills
Preferred: Hands-on experience with ERP systems, NetSuite and/or SAP.
Analytical skills for evaluating suppliers offering the best combination of quality, delivery, price and service.
Interpersonal skills, self-confidence and negotiating skills for establishing contracts and price agreements with suppliers.
Ability to plan, develop and execute multiple projects under tight timelines.
Operate and execute with an extreme sense of urgency.
Preferred: Experience in Class 7 Radioactive materials, hazardous materials including chemicals and radioactive materials is preferred.
Education
Bachelor's in business, management, supply chain, purchasing or similar field.
Additional Requirements
Up to 10% travel to local sites.
