Position Overview The Assistant Golf Professional supports all aspects of daily golf operations including tournaments, instruction, merchandising, and player services. This position works closely with the Director of Golf, Head Golf Professional, and Tournament Sales Manager to ensure seamless operations and an elevated member and guest experience.
Key Responsibilities Guest & Member Experience
Enthusiastically greet members and guests (by name whenever possible).
Promote a welcoming, service-focused environment aligned with Omni Hotels standards.
Serve as a knowledgeable ambassador for the golf operation and the resort.
Provide professional advice, opinions, and assistance as needed.
Golf Operations
Maintain working knowledge of the 36-hole operation, practice facility, and course rotation.
Book and manage tee time reservations.
Handle daily player registration and check-in.
Lead and direct player services staff, starters, and rangers.
Ensure smooth pace of play and high service standards.
Instruction & Player Development
Provide individual lessons, clinics, golf schools, and growing‑the‑game programs.
Assist in expanding instructional revenue and participation.
Tournament & League Management
Assist in planning and executing tournaments and golf leagues.
Coordinate scoring, event setup, communication, and on‑site execution.
Retail & Financial Responsibilities
Assist with golf shop presentation and merchandising standards.
Support inventory counts with the Merchandise Manager.
Perform sales, rentals, and services as directed.
Maintain and balance daily cash register transactions.
Qualifications
PGA Associate or Class A Member preferred (or actively pursuing).
Strong knowledge of golf operations, tee sheet management, and course rotation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Basic computational and cash‑handling abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and golf management systems.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand and remain mobile for extended periods.
Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
