My Old Kentucky Home State Park Golf Course is located in historic Bardstown, Kentucky in the heart of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. The course features bentgrass greens, newly renovated Better Billy Bunkers and is in the process of converting the fairways from bermuda to "Bluemuda" for a hybrid bluegrass with bermuda mix for year‑round color and playability. Benefits
Compensation is based on a 37.5‑hour workweek, with compensated overtime.
5% salary increase after a six‑month probationary period.
11 paid holidays.

Responsibilities
Oversee all phases of golf maintenance and agronomic operations, cost control, and personnel of an assigned state park golf course.
Supervise staff and perform duties necessary in establishing and maintaining turf and all living infrastructure on the golf course.
Assist in the care and maintenance of the turf, ornamental plants, shrubs, trees, and wetlands on the facility grounds.
Develop and implement maintenance work plans on a daily/weekly/annual basis to meet the agronomic needs of the golf course while considering the golfer usage and other guest‑related activities.
Oversee the use and maintenance of the golf course irrigation system and all turf maintenance equipment (mowers, sprayers, tractors, aerators, utility vehicles, golf carts, etc.).
Create and manage the golf course maintenance budget to control costs and optimize the quality of the golf product within the parameters of a budget.
Recruit, hire, and supervise golf maintenance staff.
Oversee all in‑house projects required to manage the golf course and provide close oversight of all projects involving outside contractors.
Maintain a valid driver’s license and obtain a Kentucky Pesticide Applicator License within six months of employment.
Maintain all required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment.
Travel may be required for turf and department meetings and conferences.
Work overtime and weekends periodically; typically performed outside in varied climatic conditions.
Work involves use of potentially toxic materials such as insecticides, fungicides, and fertilizers.
Qualifications
Education: Graduate of a college or university with an associate degree in plant science, turf management or a related field.
Three years as a golf course superintendent or golf course assistant superintendent in addition to a Certificate of Turfgrass Management from an accredited university can substitute for the required education.
Experience: One year experience as a Golf Course Assistant Superintendent.
Additional Requirements
Employees in this class may be required to maintain a valid driver’s license and required to drive a licensed vehicle.
May be required to submit to a drug screening test and background check.
Applicants and employees in positions which perform job duties that may require contact with offenders in the custody or supervision of the Department of Corrections or with youth in the care, custody, or supervision of the Department of Juvenile Justice must meet qualifications pursuant to the federal Prison Rape Elimination Act, 28 C.F.R. 115.17 and 115.317.
