Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the department’s budget, including revenues and expenditures
Verify and process invoices for payment, requisitions, and purchase card transactions
Compile and maintain all fiscal and bookkeeping records
Produce a variety of fiscal reports, routinely and as requested
Monitor the Requests for Proposals, Quotations and Qualifications process
Oversee Central Stores records, purchases, receipts and inventory, including the year‑end accounting
Assist with clerical tasks for the department when needed, including answering phones, greeting customers, assisting administrative staff, and running the office
Create presentations or other communication material; serve on inter‑departmental committees
Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of accounting, fiscal, cash collection, and financial management principles; and office practices and procedures
Use of Excel and other financial related programs
Ability to use independent judgment to solve financial problems and work collaboratively with co‑workers
Use of good time management skills
Good customer service skills
Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
Associate’s degree from an accredited institution and two years of experience in accounting and fiscal processes is preferred
An equivalent combination of education and experience that is determined to be directly related to the foregoing specific requirements may be substituted
Special Requirements
Absence of non‑prescribed controlled substances in the applicant’s system as verified by a laboratory approved by the City of Winter Haven
