Overview Iron Horse is a privately owned public golf course located between Lincoln and Omaha in Ashland, Nebraska. The course is built around a 40 acre limestone quarry lake. Iron Horse is recognized as one of the best public golf facilities in Nebraska.

Iron Horse does not have a full service restaurant and utilizes the services of two professional catering providers for outings and special events. 27,000+ rounds are played annually.

72 carts in the fleet that are equipped with gps.

Assistant will report directly to the General Manager. This position will supervise staff in the absence of the GM. Assistant will be involved in every aspect of the clubhouse operation to include golf shop, concessions, bev cart, rangers and outside cart staff.

This position has been the training ground, for past employees, to move on to advanced positions, either as Head Professionals or First Assistants at premier operations.

40-45 hours, 5-day work week. Overtime paid for hours worked over 40 each week. 2-days off each week, which rotates so every 3rd week Assistant will have Friday/Saturday off. It is possible that in rare cases there could be a week or two where it is necessary to work a 6-day week. This position is hourly rate of pay with overtime paid at time and a half for hours worked over 40.

Experience Required

PGA Member or an Apprentice with work experience.

Outing / League Management.

MS Office - Excel & Word.

Staff Supervision.

Familiar with Golf Genius Tournament Software.

Must have skill to exercise good independent judgement in assessing situations and ability to make decisions.

Flexible to work varying schedules.

Essential Responsibilities

Outgoing and positive personality. Someone that enjoys engaging with the public.

Integral part of daily operation.

Manage all aspects of clubhouse operation in absence of GM.

Team player.

Strong work ethic with a positive attitude required.

Understands the job requires working weekends/ holidays during the golf season.

Responsible for opening and/or closing procedures of operation.

Golf league management.

Assist in hiring, developing and supervising all employees.

Ability to problem solve.

Golf shop ordering and inventory management.
