
Overview
This position is responsible for creating a positive guest experience on the golf course by providing guests and members with assistance in the golf department, instructing as well as supervising staff. Reports to the Director of Golf.
Qualifications
Ability to communicate and interact with course guests and be friendly and outgoing
Must have professional presentation and strong customer service skills
Ability to operate a golf cart and driving range picker
Possess valid state Drivers' License
Must be able to withstand a range of outside weather conditions (heat/cold, rain/snow, etc.) including prolonged exposure to sunlight
Ability to lift, push, pull or carry up to 90 pounds
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to bend at waist and perform repetitive hand, wrist and foot action
Good hand/eye/foot coordination required
Ability to work days, nights, weekends, holidays
Must be at least 18 years of age
Passed PAT or proven ability to pass PAT by achieving a qualifying PAT target score
Experience Required
0-3 years frontline service experience ranging to 5+ years' experience as an Assistant Golf Professional. Level I PGA Apprentice preferred
High school diploma required, college preferred
Non PGA Apprentice (Must be willing to register into the PGA Apprentice program) or PGA Apprentice Level 1
Essential Responsibilities
Greet and start golfers, responding to any course questions, concerns or requests
Follow all policy, procedures and service standards
Supervise staff
Schedule employees in the golf department
Maintain labor budgets including monitoring overtime
Maintain facility
Perform tournament operations duties
Coordinate and execute member, resort, and visitor golf groups
Conduct individual lessons and golf clinics, and junior programs
Perform other duties as assigned
Benefits The seasonal position will be full time hours March 1 - November 30. Additional hours during the offseason (December-February) will be based on staffing, business levels, and seasonal performance.
