What is the job about? Grundfos, a Great Place to Work® certified company, is seeking a Senior District Sales Manager to join its Industry (IND) team. The Sr District Sales Manager (sDSM) role is to maximize top line revenue while protecting bottom line in the projects space through distribution. The sDSM ensures that his/her APR is delivering on the financial goals and objectives that have been committed to for the year. In addition, the sDSM will maximize value throughout the channel, manage activities and champion process improvement in accordance with the direction of ASMs and line manager and is responsible for the recruitment and onboarding/termination of channel partners in CAPEX/Projects space. The sDSM reports to the Vice President Sales – Industry Distribution (Area Sales Director) and participates as an active member of the North America distribution team. The sDSM works in concert with their peers on the OPEX distribution team, Key Account, OEM, IEM, Projects and Sales Development Team. This position will be responsible for the West/SW territory and operate remotely out of California, Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, or Texas. Candidates must reside in the listed territory. Candidates from Florida will also be considered.

Your main responsibilities SELLING

The sDSM is accountable to deliver top line revenue, strategic goals and profitable sales growth as defined in the annual budget and strategic plan for their APR and CAPEX/Projects while maintaining profit.

The sDSM will be an active member of the North America distribution team for their respective APR and will lead the execution of the strategies for their respective APR.

The sDSM will be responsible for the development of and execution of a 1-2 year strategic sales plan for their respective APR and will manage opportunities within their APR in the selected markets which Grundfos Industry participates.

The sDSM will seek to enhance their skills and competencies, emphasizing continuous improvement in their professional development and champion value selling for the distributors assigned.

The sDSM will ensure that he/she meet assignment deadlines, including, but not limited to, monthly reports, expense reports, budgets, opportunity management & pipeline, market plans, special assignments, etc.

The sDSM will train distribution partners on product portfolio.The sDSM will continually develop knowledge of the industrial business climate, industry types, Key Decision Makers (KDM), applications and competition in their defined APR. The sDSM will develop, maintain and execute a territory growth plan. The sDSM will continually assess current Grundfos industrial distribution, develop and evaluate their performance and work to ensure proper coverage of / relationships with all KDMs in their APR.

The sDSM will manage all conflict across sales channels, or Grundfos business units, in an effort to do what’s best for Grundfos, in line with the Grundfos culture

The sDSMs will mentor and be a leader to the DSMs.

MANAGEMENT A. The sDSM is expected to manage their APR with a process focus mindset and in coordination with Grundfos Commercial Excellence guidelines. As part of the team, it will include but is not limited to:

New customer acquisition utilizing processes such as Grid and Capture or other methods.

Accounts Receivables

Expense management and reporting

Sales promotions and programs

Channel/Partner election, management and evaluation including termination.

Sales and Expense forecasting and budgeting

Overall reporting

Sales lead handling and tracking

Strategic planning and working alongside collages from the Industrial End user Market team (IEM) and Projects Team.

The sDSM will utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system relative to partners, accounts, opportunity management and pipeline activities in their APR and will ensure it is kept up to date.

The sDSM, as a senior member of the sales team, is expected to lead, manage, and influence internal stakeholders through a dotted line relationships in a matrix organization.

TEAM MEMBER

It is the defined responsibility of the sDSM to work with other DSMs, Project Managers, Service Delivery and Aftermarket Directors and Managers and other functions in the end to end regional team to foster open dialogue, develop a collaborative team environment and culture, create a strong morale and spirit within the team; promoting the sharing of wins, successes and challenges for Grundfos Industry Americas.

SOCIETY

The sDSM will support Grundfos’ objective of being a socially responsible company by leading or participating in company sponsored events and activities that support this cause such as Walk for Water.

It is the responsibility of the sDSM to always present themselves in their role and in society in a manner consistent with the Grundfos Brand, including maintaining personal appearance, vehicle cleanliness and condition and following customer entertainment guidelines.

Your background We imagine that you have:

Bachelor's in engineering, business or related field. MBA a plus.

CAPEX Sales experience in Industry preferred and will be considered an asset and will be prioritized.

Ability to travel 50% working days in a year, Estimate 120 nights in a hotel.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise between product management and sales teams.

General experience with sales/data analysis and forecasting

Knowledge of the region and market segment to which the sDSM is assigned and a general knowledge of the other Grundfos target industrial markets highly considered

Demonstrated knowledge of pumps and pumping systems, rotating equipment including electronically controlled pump systems (VFD, controllers, etc.) is a plus.

Ability to develop and deliver effective product presentations at all levels of management and for all sizes of audiences for both internal and external customers.

Ability to manage individual expense budget and work with regional team to plan and stay within the regional expense budget.

Analytical and systematic approach to business processes, Green / Black Belt certified is a plus.

The salary range for this position is from $94,000-$155,000. Individual pay will be determined based on market location and the candidate’s profile. The range listed is just one component of Grundfos’s total compensation and benefits package for employees. Total compensation includes paid time off, paid holidays, merit increases, bonuses, and employee stock purchase programs, etc. Certain roles are eligible to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization.
