Staff Product Designer (B2B + B2C)
Remote
Reporting to: Chief Product Officer (CPO)
Salary: $150-215K based on experience
Equity: 0.25 - 0.6%
About RubyData.ai RubyData is building a new class of retail intelligence and marketing infrastructure.
Legacy marketing tools are rule-based, manual, and fragmented — built for static segments, delayed reporting, and human-operated workflows. They rely on brittle if/then logic, predefined funnels, and constant manual tuning, and they fail to adapt to real customer behavior in real time.
RubyData replaces this model entirely.
We are building an agentic, autonomous, self-optimizing system powered by a Large Retail Model (LRM) — a foundation model trained on real-world shopping journeys across thousands of retailers. The system continuously observes customer behavior, reasons over intent, price sensitivity, and context, and decides the optimal action in real time, without human-authored rules.
Instead of campaign configuration and reactive optimization, RubyData operates as a self-improving decision engine that:
Predicts intent and abandonment risk
Selects and executes real-time interventions (on-site, extensions, messaging)
Personalizes experiences at the individual level
Learns continuously from outcomes to improve future decisions
Our platform combines B2B control surfaces (analytics, strategy, guardrails) with B2C execution layers (onboarding, extensions, real-time experiences), enabling retailers to shift from manual campaign management to autonomous optimization at scale.
We are building the operating system for modern retail growth.
The Role We’re hiring a Staff Product Designer — a senior, high-impact individual contributor who operates with strategic depth and execution speed.
This role owns design across critical B2B and B2C surfaces, works directly with enterprise customers, and partners closely with product leadership to shape both product direction and growth outcomes.
This is not a UI-only role. You will design for metrics, experimentation, and real business impact in a fast-moving, AI-first product environment.
What you’ll do
Own end-to-end product design across - B2B dashboards, workflows, and internal/admin tools, B2C onboarding, activation, extensions, and conversion flows
Lead design for growth and performance - Funnels, activation loops, pricing, paywalls, retention
Translate complex, data-heavy workflows into clear, scalable interfaces
Rapidly prototype, test, ship, and iterate in a high-velocity startup environment
Lead and support experimentation (A/B tests, variants, iterations) with measurable outcomes
Partner weekly with enterprise customers to understand needs, validate solutions, and iterate quickly
Create and evolve custom UI visuals and lightweight illustrations that elevate product quality and brand
Design and iterate on product marketing surfaces (Webflow sites, landing pages, experiments)
Partner closely with product, engineering, marketing, and the CPO on strategy, prioritization, and execution
Set a high bar for product quality, usability, and clarity across the platform
What we’re looking for (must-haves)
7+ years of experience as a Product Designer shipping real products
Proven experience across both B2B and B2C products
Strong startup experience — comfortable operating with ambiguity and speed
Advanced Figma expertise (design systems, components, variants, auto-layout)
Experience designing data-heavy, workflow-driven interfaces
Deep understanding of growth design (funnels, activation, pricing, retention)
Demonstrated experience running experiments and using metrics to drive decisions
Experience collaborating directly with enterprise or large B2B customers
Hands-on experience with Webflow (product marketing, experiments, landing pages)
Strong product intuition — you design with outcomes, not aesthetics, as the goal
A portfolio with real case studies showing - End-to-end flows, Iteration and tradeoffs, Experiments and measurable results
Portfolios consisting of static UI or visual-only work will not be considered.
Trial Period (Paid) Before extending a full-time offer, final candidates will complete a 14-day paid trial period ($8K minimum paid).
During this trial, you will:
Work on real product problems alongside the team
Collaborate directly with product and engineering
Ship meaningful design work that reflects how you operate day to day
This trial is designed to ensure mutual fit, clarity on expectations, and confidence on both sides before committing long term.
Interview process
60-minute case study presentation
Focus on real-world product thinking, experimentation, tradeoffs, and outcomes.
(No whiteboard or hypothetical exercises.)
14-day paid trial period
C-suite conversation + offer
Why join
Build a product redefining how retail marketing operates
Work on agentic, AI-first systems at the frontier of product design
Direct access to product leadership
High ownership and visible impact
Fast execution, minimal bureaucracy
Product-led, growth-driven culture
Competitive compensation with meaningful upside
