
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Sparks, NV. Candidates should currently reside within commuting distance. Relocation assistance is not available.
This position requires extensive research and the ability to negotiate contracts with suppliers, manage an inventory, keep an eye on the latest market trends and employ various strategies to acquire the right products in the most economical and efficient way possible. Historical data will be used to forecast the demand of different products and make sure that its supply is maintained and readily available.
Develop and optimize profitable purchasing strategies
Possess strong industry knowledge and research abilities
Build and maintain positive, long-term supplier relations
Coordinate with internal teams regarding their supply needs
Research and compare suppliers, products, and services
Select the most suitable suppliers in terms of reliability, product quality, and cost-efficiency
Recommend alternatives for expensive or otherwise problematic products
Process purchase orders, schedule and verify deliveries
Monitor inventory levels and determine purchase needs
Request cost proposals and negotiate best possible contracts and pricesMaintain records of all transactions, purchase orders, invoices, pricing, etc.
Authorizing payments for the accounting department, passing along documentation on purchasing activities to ensure timely payment
Qualifications:
High school degree/GED required
Previous experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar position
Strong research and analytical skills
Outstanding judgement and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Polite, professional, and courteous
Strong organization and documentation skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Proficient with Microsoft word, excel, and outlook
Ability to work well with others and independently
Salary and Benefits:
Starting at $57,000 + performance bonus
