
Unnamed Press, an LA-based literary publisher of books, is seeking a part-time designer to support day-to-day graphic design needs, with a heavy emphasis on social media, digital marketing, and print production. The right candidate will be excited about creating direct marketing campaigns in a collaborative environment, as well as an excellent project manager capable of juggling multiple projects.
Social media design and marketing experience required. Attention to detail, time-management and flexibility are a must. Typesetting skills and print design experience preferred but not required. This job offers tremendous growth opportunities for a self-starting, book-loving designer. Future opportunities for the role include cover design, brand management and art directing duties. This role reports to the marketing manager.
Ideally, the candidate is based in Northeast LA and can join us in the office at least once a week. However, exceptions may be made.
Approximately ten to fifteen hours per week to start.
Collaborating with the marketing team to create marketing materials for weekly social media, newsletter, and advertising;
Creating website assets;
In coordination with the production team, working with freelance typesetters and cover designers to finalize both interior layouts and jacket design for production;
Liaising with print manufacturers to upload print ready files (preparing high-resolution, print-ready PDF files, including managing bleeds, color systems (CMYK), and specialized finishes like spot UV or foil);
Typesetting of manuscripts;
Preparing files for digital printing of advance review copies ("galleys");
Administrative tasks include keeping digital assets organized and current on Airtable.
