The Executive Director (ED) in Elizabethtown, NY, is tasked with leading and managing the overarching strategy, operations, and finances of the client, an organization dedicated to providing affordable housing in the Adirondacks. Collaborating closely with the Board of Directors, staff, and regional communities, the ED's goal is to strengthen and expand the clients resources and community impact amidst a growing emphasis on regional housing solutions. As a figurehead for the client, the ED represents its values and mission, engaging with key stakeholders to promote their initiatives and ensure alignment with strategic goals. The client, originally formed in 1978, focuses on improving housing conditions for North residents. It operates with an annual budget between $1.5M and $2M and employs 16 staff members under the guidance of a dedicated Board of Trustees. Their programs provide rental assistance through over 900 Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers, oversee community real estate developments, and offer home repair and rehabilitation services. Additionally, the client manages housing counseling services and a rental portfolio that includes several small rental buildings and a multifamily unit in a USDA program. The client also supports a separate nonprofit to ensure long-term housing affordability. The ED will lead these diverse programs by providing visionary leadership and implementing sustainable strategies that reflect the clients mission. Among the responsibilities are developing effective program initiatives, maintaining robust funding strategies through collaboration with the Board and other stakeholders, and ensuring operational excellence with a team-oriented and transparent organizational culture. The ED is also involved in ensuring the financial oversight and regulatory compliance while fostering relationships with local and national organizations to secure necessary resources.
