Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team. Major Duties: Supervising swimming programs including lifeguard, CPR, first aid, and water safety training. Ensuring proper scheduling and coordination of programs with the base/camp service officer and the Aquatics Program Manager. Submitting necessary manpower and equipment requirements to the Aquatics Program Manager. Responsible for all recreational fund property assigned to the pool/beach facility. Ensuring the pool's security and initiating all necessary repair and maintenance requirements. Notifying the Aquatics Program Manager and General Manager of any recommended action deemed necessary to correct discrepancies and preparing other related activity and incident reports. Supervising the daily pool/beach operation and its administrative functions. Maintaining key to the safe and issuing change fund to the cash register attendant. Ensuring accuracy of cash handling and its accounting documentations. Ensuring task given are accomplished by the Head Lifeguard and assigned lifeguards/swimming instructors. Conducting, on an as-needed basis, instruction for pool/beach lifeguards. Instructing, monitoring, and coordinating all water safety programs in the facility. Ensuring quality training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and multi-media first aid (MMFA). Relaying instructions from supervisor. Getting work started. Setting work pace. Demonstrating work methods, and providing work-related guidance. Ensuring worksite materials and tools are available to complete work. Reporting workplace injuries immediately to the immediate or higher level supervisor, and to the Human Resources office in the absence of the immediate supervisor. Checking with supervisor on problems. Checking on work and meeting productivity goals. Ensuring employees follow security, safety, and housekeeping rules. Conducting on-the-job training and instructions. Performing supervisory duties in an emergency, or short-term and nonrecurring basis. Providing world class customer service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assisting customers and communicating positively in a friendly manner. Taking action to solve problems quickly. Alerting the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adhering to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reporting any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adhering to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performing other related duties as assigned. Requirements: Conditions of Employment Evaluations: Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Three years experience in aquatics. Must be able to certifying all levels of basic swimming and lifesaving. Must be Water Safety Instructor, CPR-PR, and MMFA Certified. Should be familiar with swimming pool/beach operations and the equipment involved. Mature and capable of exercising sound judgment in performing the duties. Must be able to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and/or holidays on a rotating basis. Must be able to perform heavy lifting, prolonged standing and walking. Must be able to work as assigned without close supervision. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.
