
L?na'i Cultural Experience Guide
The Four Seasons Resorts L?na'i is looking for a L?na'i Cultural Experience Guide who shares a passion for excellence and who infuses enthusiasm into everything they do. Our teams have the opportunity to shape our guest experience by providing exceptional knowledge of the Resort and exemplifying the Golden Rule in each interaction. Work authorization required. What You'll Do The L?na'i Cultural Experience Guide is responsible for Cultural Holoholo and UTV Tours, leading guests on engaging and informative tours through scenic and cultural locations on the island. The guide will ensure a safe, enjoyable, and enriching experience for all participants by combining off-road adventure with insights into Hawaiian history, culture, and the natural environment. Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following: Key responsibilities include operating Jeeps and UTVs safely, providing educational narration about the area's history, culture, and environment, enforcing safety regulations, providing excellent customer service, conducting vehicle inspections, assisting with tour coordination, responding to emergencies, and communicating with staff via radio. Set up and cleaning of the Airstreams including stocking amenities. Vehicle cleaning, inspections and storage, maintenance of safety gear and equipment. Leading Jeep and UTV Tours: Safely operate UTVs while guiding guests through designated trails and scenic locations on L?na'i. Cultural Interpretation: Provide engaging and educational narratives about L?na'i's history, culture, and environment, including mo'olelo (stories), traditions, and the significance of various sites. Safety Enforcement: Ensure guest safety by conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, instructing guests on proper UTV operation, enforcing safety regulations, and responding to emergencies as needed. Guest Interaction: Offer excellent customer service, assist with check-in and gear distribution, answer guest questions, and create a positive and memorable experience. Cultural Activities: Facilitate Hawaiian storytelling, participate in cultural training programs, to enhance the cultural immersion for guests. Teamwork: Collaborate with other guides, support staff, and management to ensure smooth tour operations and guest satisfaction. Maintenance: Perform minor vehicle troubleshooting and report any mechanical issues to management. Trail maintenance as needed. Cleaning and prep: Perform daily cleaning of UTVs and airstream as needed, stocking of amenities. Cleaning of equipment such as helmets, goggles and protective wear. And More! What To Bring Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in United States. Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and push/pull as needed during shifts. Weekend and Holiday availability required. Driver's License: A valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Must be at least 21 years old to drive the UTV. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and public speaking abilities for providing engaging commentary and clear instructions. Cultural Connection: A strong connection to L?na'i and a deep understanding of its traditions and practices. Safety Awareness: Ability to follow safety protocols and enforce regulations effectively. Customer Service: Experience in hospitality or tourism-related fields, focusing on guest satisfaction. Physical Requirements: Ability to operate a UTV for extended periods in varying terrain and weather conditions. Experience: Previous experience as a tour guide, especially in outdoor recreation or with off-road vehicles. Knowledge: Expertise in Hawaiian history, culture, and the natural environment.
