OCM Data Entry Clerk
The OCM Data Entry Clerk is essential to Bureau Veritas's laboratory operations, ensuring accurate and timely data entry of received samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). This position supports the Organization's commitment to operational excellence, data integrity, and customer satisfaction through meticulous attention to detail and efficient processing of high-volume sample information. The OCM Data Entry Clerk works collaboratively with internal teams and customers to maintain accurate records and resolve discrepancies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Data Entry & LIMS Management High-Volume Data Entry: Process large volumes of received sample data with accuracy and efficiency LIMS Data Input: Accurately enter and update existing records within the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Data Accuracy: Ensure all data entry meets quality standards and organizational requirements Record Management: Maintain comprehensive and organized records of all entered data Problem Resolution & Customer Support Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot problems with incoming samples Discrepancy Resolution: Work with customers to resolve data discrepancies and issues in a professional and timely manner Communication: Communicate clearly with customers regarding sample status and any outstanding issues Administrative Support Telephone Support: Assist in answering telephones and routing calls to appropriate departments Document Management: File and sort documents according to established procedures Sample Receiving Assistance: Assist in the sample receiving area as needed to support laboratory operations HSE & Compliance Complete all Bureau Veritas training and My Learnings courses prior to assigned due dates (target: 3 days early to prevent emergency delays) Maintain compliance with all Bureau Veritas policies, procedures, and data security protocols Follow all health, safety, and environmental guidelines in the laboratory environment Adhere to proper handling procedures for hazardous materials and equipment Other Duties Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor to support OCM Operations Required Qualifications Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED: Minimum educational requirement Data Entry Experience: Demonstrated experience with high-volume data entry Note: Internships and research experience will be considered Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Ability to speak effectively with employees and customers Proficiency in written and verbal communication Mathematical Skills Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form Problem-solving skills to address data discrepancies and sample issues Technical Skills Proficiency with computer systems and software applications Ability to learn and work effectively within LIMS and other laboratory management systems Competency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Personal Attributes Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy Organizational and time management skills Reliability and consistent attendance Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Customer service orientation Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in laboratory data entry or sample management Familiarity with LIMS or similar laboratory information systems Experience in testing, inspection, or certification industry Knowledge of quality management systems (ISO standards) Bilingual capabilities (Spanish/English) Supervisory Responsibilities None Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
